Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon has been sent to Los Angeles to gather evidence. Instead, he sets out to find a murderer who is terrorizing the city. Los Angeles Sheriff’s Sergeant Jim Baxter, impressed by Dke’s police instinct, unofficially asks for help. But when the killer is found, Baxter is unaware that the investigation has uncovered Dee’s past and revealed a troubling secret that could more than threaten the case.
Joe Deacon (Denzel Washington) is an embarrassing ex-Los Angeles cop who currently works in Bakersfield and lives alone on the fringes of society. Our story was known only for its affiliation with The Night Stalker case, which was still on the air when a new serial killer appeared in City of Angels in 1990.
Deke turned out to be lost. Her marriage suffered heart attack and had to leave town because an extremely cruel case that she could not solve. His former colleagues, including Captain Carl Farris (Terry Kinney) and Detective Sal Rizoli (Chris Bauer) are after him and don’t want him.
The FBI is urged to assume responsibility for the investigation within a week, which will reduce Deacon and Baxter’s time. Farris told Baxter that he confessed to a murder that Sparma could not commit eight years ago because he was nearly ten miles away at the time.
He also obsessed with crime and therefore an untrustworthy suspect. Baxter and Deacon go to Sparma’s apartment and conduct an illegal search. When Deacon calls the apartment, the police steal the radio and Sparma runs away from Sparma’s house after a police search.
“It depends on the studio’s financial decisions,” Leto said. “They think they can make more money with a bigger movie show. Before TV, if people could do something episodic, they still found themselves into those kinds of stories. She’s not saying you should stop making movies like” The Little Things, “but I think the HBO show. People like to spend more time with these characters when you start talking like” The Undoing. ”
This screenwriter’s deception ruined the show. Without knowing the true source of the deacon’s torment, the contemplation seems ambiguous and general. And there is little Washington can do other than be tortured.
Meanwhile, Malek never seemed comfortable playing the role of an idealistic detective. He felt like he was playing with ideas, not as a person. Aside from the initial setup of their relationship. Deacon and Baxter’s interaction didn’t really make sense, other than a sudden right turn at the end.
