Like almost every other major Hollywood franchise, The Forever Purge movies are known to maintain a level of privacy and not reveal too much information before they are released, but there are definitely some important things we know about the movie production. That’s why we’ve put together this guide to take a quick look at what to expect from the fifth theatrical installment in the series.

According to previously revealed information about the story, the film will take place after the events of The Purge: Election Year and then the elimination of The Purge. A couple named Adela and Juan (Ana de la Reguera and Tenoch Huerta, respectively) are stranded on a Texas ranch while fleeing a drug cartel.

There they are at the mercy of a group of misfits who plan to illegally continue their cleanup. And recruit the pair to eliminate them and anyone who can come to their aid. According to director Everardo Gout (Days of Grace), “It’s a great story about Latinos. And Americans coming together to overcome despair and evil.”

The move underscores that Hollywood studios do not expect theaters to run at full capacity for the next two months. Theaters that have reopened in some states, such as Texas and Georgia, are slowly starting to operate again. However, entertainment venues such as movie theaters in Los Angeles. And New York in the final stages of reopening plans and may closed for longer than expected.

Like many films released in the past two years. The Forever Purge has faced several date changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and forced box office delays. We originally wanted to see the film last July, months after the title was announced as the dangers of the pandemic escalated.

Of course this is not possible, so the film was removed from the screening schedule with no clear indication of when we would see it. Earlier this year, the date was moved to the current and final release date of July 2 a week ago.
