Palmer Movie Story Line

Former high school football star Eddie Palmer (Justin Timberlake) turns from a local hero into a convicted felon and is sentenced to 12 years in prison. He returned to Louisiana, where he settled with his grandmother Vivian (June Squibb), who raised him. As he bowed his head and tried to restore a quiet life, this movie became fascinated with the memories of his previous glorious days and the wary eyes of his small town.

Things get even more complicated when Vivian’s neighbor Shelly (Juno Temple) disappears with a long bump, leaving behind her strange 7-year-old son Sam (Ryder Allen), who is often bullied in care.Later on, Palmer is drawn into a more hopeful world as he interacts with Sam through shared experiences that make people around him feel different.

The court temporarily hands Sam over to Shelly, but Palmer sees her boyfriend physically assaulting them both. Palmer intervenes, sees them using drugs in front of Sam, and runs off with the boy. Shelly called the police and Palmer charged with kidnapping. He brings the boy back and is arrested. Sam cries because he wants to be with Palmer instead of his own mother. Shelly sees this and refuses to blame it and decides to give Palmer custody of Sam.

Justin Timberlake and Juno Temple in Palmer Movie

Despite the tension that Cheryl Guerriero’s script presents, there something really unnoticed about the film. Perhaps Palmer’s sweet but somewhat harsh romance with Sam’s teacher is Maggie Hayes (Alisha Wainwright).

Vivian’s role may have too short, leaving the audience missing the true character of Squibb, who scolded her grandchildren for being late for church, but initially refused to apologize for making a mistake. His dedication to his community plays a big part in the movie, but it feels like an afterthought.

How many times have we seen movies of emotionally distant men clinging to a boy or girl to expand their goals in life? Why can’t we find better ways for women or children to thrive without their participation? It such a popular metaphor that it checked almost every month. This is no exaggeration; You can find his tracks everywhere from the Mandalorian to the midnight sky, from the next Borat movie to World News. And only from the last quarter.

With all its sweetness, I wish this movie had a little more friction. I hope you missed this movie pointless sex with Shelly. It doesn’t define anything. Hopefully, Palmer’s dynamics improve with his friends. I hope Sam’s transition from sleeping on the couch to his own bedroom goes well.

Hope Professor Sam Maggie (Alisha Wainwright) has written better. It’s here, but it’s never here. However, I remember Sam Palmer calling before going to bed and saying “nothing” and silence filled the music.
