Linda (Anne Hathaway) and Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor) discover they have other plans in Locked Down when they are locked up in their home under a forced lockdown. It turned out to be difficult to live together, but as it was nourished by poetry and wine in abundance. It brought them together in the most surprising way.
Paxton and Linda are an unhappy couple living in London during the COVID-19 outbreak. Paxton was unable to find a job as a van driver until his arrest 10 years ago. And was overwhelmed by how his life had changed. With stores closed, few drivers were available for quality delivery. Paxton’s boss reached out and asked him to come and see him with a fake ID.
Hathaway and Ejiofor create a contemporary frenzy for the film’s first two acts. When Linda and Paxton collide, they essentially do a wild monologue in which they describe the neuroses of their growing dissatisfaction with each other and with each other.
Hinting how perfect these divided lovers would for each other if they were to see each other again can meet. It’s like Port is letting the breakout inspire lockdown and lead them to end their creepy game at the height of the hype.
But even seasoned directors like Doug Liman, who haven’t collected any other material with a safer hand and put no other material on a slim and playful Mr. and Mrs. Smith, can’t find enough room to breathe. With the fake, stuffy intellectually clumsy dialogue.
As a fighting couple on the verge of becoming a criminal trapped in a West London house during the outbreak. So is the return of Hathaway (who should know better) and the meritorious Chiwetel Ejiofor who better A lot of woody Allen-style post-it waffles clinging to it were doomed to a written but belated line.
She hinted at her divorce from Linda (Hathaway) and revealed that she was grazing somewhere in the house because of the pain, anger, and friends who disagreed with her about the COVID conspiracy theory.
This before Linda found her in the garage of her beloved motorcycle that she would sell with the exhaust attached. Claiming it was a “sweet expression of despair” pretending to kill herself. To amuse oneself?
It’s a big difference that Steven Knight, who became Tom Hardy in his beautiful solo night drama “Locke” (2014). Wrote a very long screenplay that allowed Hathaway and Ejiofor to attack their characters as if they were playing. Sam Shepard in their hands, two crazy hands.
Starting with a hedgehog sliding down the garden stairs like a sleek version of the squirrel mascot from the movie “Caddyshack”, “Locked Down” never loses the tone of a light, carefree and easy to remove film. Look, it’s also a crash drama that takes more than a little thought.
