Back then, Fred and his friends were taking a strange drug called Mercury. And Fred fell in love with an emo girl named Cindy (Maika Monroe from It Follows) who sat across from him in math class. But as the title of the film suggests, there are moments when Fred is alive at the same time.
Or maybe there was a different kind of flashback: Mercury-induced hallucinations. Anyway, those visual pieces literally start to come together in a super-fast cut that’s almost blurry. And Fred’s realism gets a little more apparent.
But just when you’re ready to unleash the flashback, its medicinal effects are shown, and as a result, the story turns into trippy madness, leading to problems with family healing, work, and relationships. Unsatisfactory, all in the concept of time.
The plot decision will end here for now, but those who want to see something particularly bizarre will find much to embrace or hate in this enigmatic saga with bizarre philosophical implications. But at least he has a catchy recording composition.
