Global hysteria comes after a mysterious disaster destroys all electronic devices and robs people of the ability to sleep. Scientists race against time to find a cure for unexplained insomnia before its disastrous consequences wipe out humanity.
When Jill, a former soldier, discovers that her daughter may be the key to safety, she must make a choice: protect her children at all costs or sacrifice everything to save the world.
They arrive at the library and Noah finds a map. Noah and Jill use the map to find their destination. An escaped convict steals his car with Mathilde in it. Another inmate threatens Jill and Noah, but they are rescued by Dodge, the man who stole their car.
They find the wreckage and Noah and Dodge search for everything they need. Jill taught Matilda to drive because only she had the energy to prepare. They are attacked by people while driving, but are able to escape.
We follow a family led by Jill (Gina Rodriguez), a struggling single mother who works in security and sells stolen pills. What made her situation even more dangerous was that her daughter was still able to sleep for unknown reasons, causing those around her to want to make sacrifices and/or experiment with her.
During their journey, they come across characters played by more deserving actors, from Frances Fisher to Barry Pepper to Shamier Anderson and, unfortunately, perhaps annoying Jennifer Jason Leigh as a bad psychiatrist.
In “Awake” Rodriguez plays Jill with such determination that her sanity changes drastically. His body language changed from a hero in combat and action training to a person on the brink of death with out of focus blurry eyes, heavy limbs and unable to control himself.
The character’s relationship with his son, Noah, starts to get tense, but gradually changes as the film progresses, giving Hoyos a chance to play a cranky teenager who hates his absent mother and is humbled by the tragedy the eldest son notices. and takes care of his mother.
Heartbroken as Rodriguez seemed, he nearly lost to his youngest opponent, Greenblatt 10. Greenblatt is the force of his own energy that animates the emotional scenes in the film.
Something happened, I don’t know what. Electricity and all electronic devices have been cut off. Jill takes the children, swarming with emergencies, to the hospital. And they soon learn that their injuries, bruises and near-death experiences are not a priority.
Jill falls into a coma because the plot needs her so we can see that all the patients are awake. Strange, so strange. You go back to grandma’s house and when night falls no one sleeps and Noah looks up at the stars and sees all the moons flying uncontrollably in the sky.
